Our BeliefsBelieving that Jesus is the head of the church, and upon our faith in this truth, we, taking the holy scripture as our only source, believe that we are to be people who are both light and salt in the world; that we are transformed from the world's views; that God wants us to teach holy scripture; that we are to love one another as ourselves, bear each other's burdens, and encourage one another; that we are to be made righteous and that we are to be continually in prayer; that we are to make disciples, to baptize and to teach them; that in all we are to be imitators of our Lord Jesus and that we are to do this in a spirit of love and with humility. The ordinances of Elizabethtown Baptist Church are baptism by immersion of believers and the Lord's Supper. Doctrine: The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of purpose, doctrine, and belief. Elizabethtown Baptist Church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message (as revised 2000). |
